Beautiful, large property with a panoramic view of the volcano and the surrounding valley. The facilities were all world class quality, as is the staff. Rooms have nice high ceilings, large balcony and comfortable beds. The pools and hot springs are scattered throughout the resort which gives lots of places to explore. Especially beautiful at night! And make sure to try the water slide! We all loved Club Rio. We enjoyed seeing the Costa Rican animals at the animal sanctuary and the river tubing was a lot of fun! Great experience for our 8 year old! The kids loved the kid’s room with all the bean bag chairs, video games, toys, foozeball, ping pong, and fresh popcorn.

This was our first stop on Costa Rica. Because the staff go out of their way to make sure you are well informed and your needs are met, it was a very enjoyable place to stay. Aside from some confusion about dinner reservations/menus, all activities and amenities were as advertised, well run, and on time. Property is cleaned constantly, rooms serviced twice per day. We ate at three of the restaurants and everything was very good. Even though it was very busy, the hotel didn’t seem crowded because it is spread out. We could enjoy a hot spring by ourselves, shoot pool, use the gym, etc. without waiting. I would definitely go back.

Beautiful property. The view of Arenal is unbeatable. Very well manicured. The hot springs at the Rio Club are amazing. Nice activities for the kids: including mini golf, game room, game tables, pool, pin pong, etc We had a room with two queen beds. The rooms was spacious but I felt like they needed a better interior layout design ( no real living space for the size of the room). The balcony was great with a nice view of the volcano. Everything was very clean. The staff was very kind and friendly.

Marina

Absolutely gorgeous resort. We have two teens and the room was very spacious and had a nice pullout couch and we got an additional bed. Very nice walk-out balcony with great views. They have free self-serve laundry which was a nice benefit when many activities in the area are water-related. Lots of restaurant choices and you can order from all the restaurants in one location your food just doesn't all come out together. Nice plus when you have picky kids that can't agree on where to eat.

The size of the rooms was wonderful with gorgeous outdoor patios overlooking the volcano. The bathrooms had double basins and lots of counter space The shower was nice and big and there was a separate bathtub that we didn't use given the numerous outdoor thermal pools. We had 2 separate rooms for 3 nights and then had a family suite for one night. Family suite could sleep 6 with 2 bathrooms. We only had 4 adults but it was a great option to be in one room for that last night.
